How to Install Offset Toilet Flange
Installing an offset toilet flange is a common task when replacing an old toilet or installing a new one. 1. Turn off the water supply to the toilet by turning the valve located behind the toilet. Flush the toilet to empty the tank and bowl.
2. Remove the toilet by unscrewing the bolts that secure it to the floor. Once removed, clean the area around the flange and toilet bolts.
3. Check the existing flange to ensure it is in good condition. If the flange is cracked, corroded, or not securely attached to the floor, it will need to be replaced.
4. Measure the distance from the floor to the center of the drain pipe. This measurement will help you determine if you need a flange extender. If the distance is greater than the standard offset flange, you will need to cut the pipe and install a flange extender.
